Choosing the right size soft harness is important for your pet's comfort and safety. Start by measuring your dog's chest and neck using a flexible tape measure. Most harnesses have adjustable straps, but it's best to check the manufacturer's sizing chart for guidance.

• Measure around the widest part of your dog's chest.
• Measure the base of the neck where the harness will sit.
• Compare your measurements to the product's size guide.

A snug fit is ideal—too loose and your dog may slip out, too tight and it could cause discomfort. If your dog is between sizes, opt for the larger and adjust for a secure fit.

Keeping your dog's soft harness clean helps maintain its comfort and durability. Most soft harnesses can be hand washed in cold water with mild detergent.

• Remove any detachable parts or accessories.
• Soak the harness in soapy water, gently scrub with a soft brush.
• Rinse thoroughly and air dry—avoid using a dryer as heat can damage the material.

For harnesses with reflective strips or LED components, spot clean those areas and follow the care instructions provided. Regular cleaning can help prevent odors and keep your pet happy during walks.

Soft harnesses are designed to distribute pressure more evenly across your dog's chest, which can make walks more comfortable and help reduce pulling. Many models feature no-pull designs with front leash attachments that gently redirect your dog's movement.

• Look for harnesses labeled "no-pull" or "escape proof."
• Adjust the straps for a secure fit to prevent slipping.
• Pair the harness with consistent training for best results.

While a soft harness can support leash manners, results may vary depending on your dog's habits and training.

Soft harnesses are a popular choice for puppies because they're lightweight, comfortable, and gentle on sensitive skin. Adjustable straps allow for a snug fit as your puppy grows, and padded materials help prevent chafing.

• Choose a harness with breathable mesh for added comfort.
• Look for easy step-in designs to make putting it on less stressful.
• Regularly check the fit as your puppy grows and adjust as needed.

Soft harnesses can help your puppy get used to walking on a leash and support positive training experiences.

To ensure your dog's harness fits safely, start by adjusting all straps so the harness sits snugly without restricting movement.

• You should be able to fit two fingers between the harness and your dog's body.
• Check that the harness doesn't rub against sensitive areas like the armpits or neck.
• Observe your dog during walks—if you notice slipping or signs of discomfort, readjust the fit.

Safety features like reflective strips or handles can add visibility and control. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for proper fitting and use.
