There are several options you can use to keep a window screen in place. Screen clips are a popular choice—they're small hardware pieces that attach to the window frame and hold the screen securely. You’ll also find tension springs and retainer clips that work well for different types of frames. When choosing, consider the material of your window frame and the thickness of your screen. Most clips are easy to install with just a screwdriver, making it a quick DIY project for your home.

You can find a variety of replacement screen clips in the hardware or windows & window supplies sections at Walmart, both online and in-store. Look for options like

• plastic window screen clips
• metal retainer clips
• storm window clips

To determine the right size screen spline, you’ll want to measure the groove in your window frame where the spline sits. Here’s how you can do it:

1. Remove a small piece of the old spline if possible.
2. Use a ruler or caliper to measure its diameter.
3. If the old spline isn’t available, measure the groove width directly.

Window screens are typically held in place by screen clips, tension springs, or retainer fasteners. These small hardware pieces attach to the window frame and keep the screen from shifting or falling out. Some screens also use turn buttons or offset clips for extra security. The best option depends on your window type and frame material, so it’s helpful to check what’s currently installed before purchasing replacements or upgrades.
