Choosing the right brayer size depends on your project.

• Small brayers (around 1-2 inches) are great for detailed work or small prints.
• Medium brayers (about 3-4 inches) work well for most standard block printing or cardmaking tasks.
• Larger brayers (5 inches and above) are helpful for covering big surfaces quickly, like wallpaper or large art pieces.

Consider the size of your printing block or surface and how much control you want. Having a few sizes on hand can make your creative process smoother.

Brayers are versatile tools that can be used on a variety of surfaces.

• Paper and cardstock are the most common for printmaking and stamping.
• Fabric can be used if you're working with fabric inks or paints.
• Wallpapers and vinyl often benefit from brayers for smooth application.
• Craft foam and linoleum blocks are popular for block printing.

Always check the compatibility of your ink or adhesive with the material to get the best results.

Cleaning your brayer helps it last longer and keeps your prints clean.

1. Wipe off excess ink or paint with a paper towel right after use.
2. Wash the roller with mild soap and warm water. Avoid harsh chemicals that could damage the rubber.
3. Dry thoroughly with a clean cloth before storing.

If you're using oil-based inks, you may need a suitable cleaner. Always follow the manufacturer's care instructions for best results.

Yes, brayers are handy for spreading glue evenly across surfaces.

• They're especially useful for applying glue to large areas, like when mounting paper or wallpaper.
• Roll gently to avoid squeezing out too much adhesive.
• Clean the brayer promptly after using glue to prevent buildup.

Using a brayer can help you achieve a smooth, bubble-free finish on your projects.

The main difference is in the roller material and how it interacts with your surface.

• Soft brayers are flexible and conform to textured surfaces, making them ideal for uneven or delicate materials.
• Hard brayers provide a firmer, more consistent pressure, which is great for smooth, even ink application on flat surfaces.

Choosing between them depends on your project needs and the effect you want to achieve.
