There are several solid alternatives you can find here, each offering a different feel and function:

• Weighted polyester pellets: Add heft for doorstops, sensory items, or weighted blankets. For best results, contain them in inner fabric pouches.
• Shredded memory foam: Delivers a chunky, squishy feel—great for bean bags and floor cushions.
• Microbeads: Small, flowing beads that mold closely; useful for smaller crafts and travel pillows.
• Batting sheets or foam padding: Provide structured support for cushions or quilting projects and can be layered.

You can also blend materials—for example, fiberfill around the edges for a smooth finish and a pellet pouch in the center when you want added weight.

Stretch your budget by focusing on the amount you need and how you stuff:

1. Compare price per ounce: Check product details to see weight, then compare cost per ounce across sizes.
2. Buy in larger quantities: Bigger bags, bulk boxes, or multipacks can reduce cost per ounce if you’re making multiple pillows.
3. Fluff before stuffing: Tease fiberfill apart so it lofts more; add in small tufts for even coverage.
4. Layer strategically: Use a batting sheet as a core and surround it with loose fiberfill to use less overall.
5. Choose convenient fulfillment: Pick from delivery or store pickup options available in your area.

A pillow that’s full yet compressible usually feels comfortable without overusing fill.

You can shop polyfill stuffing on Walmart.com or in the app. Navigate to Arts, Crafts & Sewing and look under Fills, Foam and Pillow Forms, or simply search for “polyfill” or “fiberfill.”

• Use filters to narrow by bag size, weight, or bulk packaging.
• Check availability for delivery or store pickup in your area.
• Read product details to match the softness or performance you want (for example, high-loft or ultra plush).

Many stores also carry it in the craft aisle. Checking local store inventory online before heading out can help you plan your trip.

It depends on your desired firmness and fabric, so there isn’t a single number. For a 20x20-inch cover, it often takes more than a small 16 oz bag to achieve a full look. Many makers keep 40–50 oz on hand to allow for a medium-to-firm finish and a bit of leftover, though actual usage varies.

1. Pre-fluff the fiber to maximize loft.
2. Stuff in small tufts, working evenly into corners.
3. Compress and test; add or remove fill to taste.
4. Weigh what’s left to gauge how much you used for future projects.

If you’re unsure, choosing a medium-to-large bag (or a bulk option) provides a comfortable margin.

Both are polyester fiberfills, but they serve different preferences:

• High-loft: Springy, volumizing fiber that holds shape and adds body. It’s helpful for decorative cushions or projects where you want bounce-back and defined edges.
• Ultra plush: Extra soft, silky feel that’s more cuddly and drapey. Ideal for plush toys or pillows you want to sink into.

Consider the end use: high-loft for structured home decor and supportive cushions; ultra plush for snuggle-worthy items. You can also blend them—use high-loft around edges for structure and ultra plush in the center for softness—so you get the best of both textures.
