Choosing the right size house number depends on where you plan to display it and how visible you want it to be. Here are a few tips:

• Distance from the street: Larger numbers (like 6-8 inches) are easier to spot from farther away, especially if your home sits back from the road.
• Mounting location: For mailboxes or doors, smaller numbers (2-4 inches) often fit best, while larger numbers work well on exterior walls or fences.
• Neighborhood guidelines: Some communities have rules about number size, so it’s a good idea to check before installing.

Consider lighting and background color for maximum visibility, too.

Many house numbers are designed to withstand outdoor conditions, but the level of weather resistance can vary. Look for features like:

• Waterproof or weather-resistant materials: Metal, vinyl, and certain plastics are commonly used for durability.
• Special coatings: Some numbers have protective finishes to help prevent rust or fading.
• IP ratings: If you’re considering illuminated or solar-powered numbers, check for an IP rating (like IP67) for added protection against water and dust.

Always review the product details to match your local climate needs.

Installing self-adhesive house numbers is usually quick and simple. Here’s a general approach:

1. Clean the surface: Wipe down the area where you’ll apply the number to remove dust and grease.
2. Peel off the backing: Carefully remove the protective layer from the adhesive side.
3. Position and press: Align the number, then press it firmly onto the surface for a few seconds.

For best results, apply to smooth, dry surfaces and avoid repositioning once placed.

Yes, many house numbers are suitable for mailboxes, especially those labeled as mailbox or address decals. Here’s what to consider:

• Size: Make sure the numbers fit the available space on your mailbox.
• Material: Vinyl and reflective stickers are popular for mailboxes due to their flexibility and visibility.
• Adhesion: Self-adhesive numbers work well on smooth, clean surfaces commonly found on mailboxes.

Always check the product description to confirm compatibility with your mailbox material.

Keeping your house numbers clean helps ensure they’re easy to spot. Here’s how you can maintain them:

• Regular cleaning: Wipe numbers with a damp cloth to remove dirt and dust. For tougher grime, use mild soap and water.
• Check for obstructions: Trim back plants or branches that might block the view.
• Inspect for wear: Over time, numbers may fade or peel. Replace or touch up as needed to maintain visibility.

Routine care can help your address stay clear for visitors and deliveries.
