What's an easy way to clean plastic building block sets?

Building block bricks, figurines, and accessories are small parts that can be time-consuming to clean. A quick and easy way to simplify the process is to put them in a fine mesh zippered laundry bag or pouch. Place the bag flat on the top shelf of your dishwasher and wash on a gentle setting. Alternatively, you can submerge the bag in a sink full of warm, soapy water and let sit for 30 minutes. Loosen and remove dirt by agitating the bag with your hands and turning it over several times in the water. Rinse very well, remove the pieces from the bag and place them on a towel to air dry.

Most building brick fans prefer to store bricks by type since this makes it easier to find what you're looking for. You can consider using and labeling clear plastic bins, drawers with dividers, canisters, sewing kits, fishing tackle boxes, scrapbook drawers, or zippered plastic bags to sort your bricks.
