The Michigan flag patch usually features the state’s official flag design, which includes a blue background with the state coat of arms. You’ll often see an elk and a moose supporting a shield, with an eagle above. Some patches highlight just the state silhouette or use grayscale or color variations for a unique style. These patches are popular for decorating jackets, backpacks, or hats and can be found in different shapes and sizes to fit your project needs.

• Set your iron: Preheat to the cotton setting, no steam.
• Position the patch: Place it where you want it on clean, dry fabric.
• Cover and press: Put a thin cloth over the patch and press the iron down firmly for about 15-30 seconds.
• Let it cool: Allow the patch to cool before moving the fabric.

For extra durability, you can sew around the edges after ironing. Always check the care instructions for your item before applying heat.

Absolutely! Many Michigan patches are designed for both iron-on and sew-on use. Sewing is a great option for materials that can’t handle high heat or if you want extra durability. Just use a needle and thread to stitch around the patch’s edge. This method works well for items like backpacks, hats, or thicker jackets, and helps your patch stay secure through washes and daily wear.

Yes, Michigan patches can be a fun and practical way to cover small holes or worn spots on clothing. They add a decorative touch while reinforcing the fabric. Just make sure the patch is large enough to cover the area, and follow the application instructions—either ironing or sewing. Patches work best on denim, cotton, or canvas and can help extend the life of your favorite items.
