File jackets and file folders both help organize paperwork, but they’re a bit different. File jackets are closed on three sides, so loose papers stay secure and won’t slide out. File folders are open on two or three sides, making it easier to add or remove documents quickly. If you need to keep small items or lots of loose sheets together, file jackets can be a great choice. For quick access and frequent filing, folders might be more convenient. Consider how you’ll use them to pick what works best for you.

Most jacket folders are designed for standard letter-size documents (8.5" x 11"), but it’s smart to double-check your paperwork size before buying.

• If you handle legal-size or oversized papers, look for larger options.
• Check the expansion width—some jackets expand up to 2 inches, which is helpful for thicker stacks.
• Think about your storage space and how many documents you need to keep together.

Yes, jacket folders come in a variety of colors, including classic manila and bright assorted shades.

• Colored folders can help you organize by category, project, or priority.
• Some packs offer multiple colors, making it easy to color-code your filing system.
• Bright colors can also make important files stand out in a drawer or on a desk.

To help your jacket folders last longer, try these tips:

1. Store them upright in a file drawer or box to prevent bending.
2. Avoid overstuffing—stick to the recommended expansion limit.
3. Keep them away from moisture and direct sunlight to prevent warping or fading.
4. Use reinforced or heavy-duty options for frequent handling.

Absolutely! Jacket folders are great for holding receipts, tickets, and other small papers that might slip out of regular folders.

• The closed sides keep everything contained, so you don’t lose important items.
• They’re handy for organizing travel documents, expense reports, or project materials.
• Some people use them to collect paperwork throughout the week before filing it away.
