The 1 3 rule for hydrangeas is a guideline often used when planting or arranging hydrangea balls and artificial hydrangea flowers. It suggests grouping hydrangeas in odd numbers—like 1 or 3—to create a visually balanced and natural look.

• Using one hydrangea ball can make a bold, simple statement.
• Grouping three creates a fuller, more dynamic arrangement.

When it comes to snowball hydrangeas, pruning depends on whether you’re working with real or artificial varieties. For real hydrangeas, many gardeners recommend waiting until after the blooms fade and only removing dead or damaged stems in the fall. For artificial hydrangea balls, there’s no need to cut them down—just store or rearrange them as needed. Always check the care instructions for your specific hydrangea type to keep them looking their best year-round.

People might say goodbye to hydrangeas for several reasons. With real hydrangeas, seasonal changes, fading blooms, or shifting décor preferences can prompt a switch. For artificial hydrangea balls, some customers update their home or event decorations to match new styles or holidays.

• Changing color schemes
• Rotating seasonal décor
• Refreshing arrangements for special occasions

If you’re placing artificial snowball hydrangeas, think about where you want a pop of color or texture. Popular spots include entryways, patios, garden arches, or as table centerpieces.

• Choose areas with good visibility
• Consider lighting for maximum effect
• Use them indoors or outdoors for versatile décor

Cleaning artificial hydrangea balls is simple and helps keep them looking fresh.

1. Gently dust with a soft cloth or feather duster.
2. If needed, use a damp cloth to wipe away any stubborn dirt.
3. Let them air dry completely before putting them back.
