Choosing the right size eyelet setter depends on the diameter of the eyelets you plan to use and the thickness of your material.

• Check the inside diameter of your eyelets—common sizes include 3/16", 1/2", and 5/8".
• Match your setter tool to the eyelet size for a secure fit.
• Consider the material you’re working with, like fabric, leather, or canvas, as thicker materials may need larger grommets and a sturdier tool.

Review product descriptions for compatibility details to help you make the best choice for your project.

Eyelet setters are versatile tools designed for a range of materials.

• They work well on fabrics like canvas, denim, and cotton for crafts or repairs.
• Leather goods, such as belts or bags, are also common uses.
• Some models can handle plastic or thin vinyl, but always check the tool’s specifications.

For best results, make sure your material isn’t too thick or too thin for the grommet size you’re using. Always test on a scrap piece first to avoid damaging your main project.

Using an eyelet setter safely helps protect both you and your project.

1. Work on a stable, flat surface to prevent slips.
2. Wear safety glasses if you’re using a hammer or heavy-duty punch.
3. Keep fingers clear of the striking area when setting the eyelet.
4. Follow the instructions included with your tool for best results.

Taking these precautions can help you avoid injury and achieve a clean, professional finish on your materials.

Many eyelet setter kits are compatible with standard-sized grommets and washers, making it possible to find replacements.

• Check the size and type of grommet your tool uses—this info is usually in the product details or manual.
• Replacement grommets and washers are often sold separately in various quantities.
• If you need a specific part for your tool, look for universal or compatible accessories.

Shopping at Walmart gives you access to a wide selection of replacement parts to keep your kit ready for any project.

Maintaining your eyelet setter can help it last longer and work better.

• After each use, wipe the tool clean to remove dust and debris.
• Store it in a dry place to prevent rust or corrosion.
• Check moving parts for wear and apply a small amount of oil if needed.
• Keep all pieces together in a storage box or pouch to avoid losing small parts.

Regular care can help your tool stay reliable for future DIY or repair projects.
