Most people call it a console table or entryway table. You might also hear hallway table. When the same style sits behind a sofa, it’s often called a sofa table.

• They’re typically long and narrow to keep walkways clear.
• Storage options can include drawers, open shelves, or a raised edge to help keep items in place.
• Styles range from farmhouse and modern to boho rattan and fluted-front designs.
• Common finishes include natural wood tones, black, white, and warm browns.

On Walmart, you’ll see these names used across a wide variety of sizes and styles, so browsing by “console” or “entryway table” can help you find a good match.

A simple approach is to measure your space first, then match dimensions listed on the product page.

1. Measure wall and door clearance: Note the wall width and how doors open so the table doesn’t crowd the entry.
2. Look for a slim profile: Many console tables are designed narrow to maintain flow.
3. Consider height: A height that aligns with your mirror or wall art often looks balanced.
4. Match length to the space: Options on-site range from compact (around the 30"s) to extra-long (60–70"+), so choose what fits your wall.

These steps can help you narrow choices without overcommitting to a specific look; results may vary based on your layout and decor.

You’ll find a wide mix of designs and storage setups.

• Styles: Farmhouse, modern, boho with rattan accents, and fluted-front looks.
• Storage: Options with drawers (often 2–3), open shelves, 2–3 tiers, or raised edges.
• Sizes: Compact 30–40" lengths for tight foyers, and long 60–70"+ for spacious halls or behind-the-couch placement.
• Materials: Wood tops, wood-look finishes, and wood paired with metal frames.
• Shapes/Details: Straight or gently curved profiles, slim depths, and airy leg designs.

Filtering by style, color, and dimensions can make it easier to land on the right entryway table for your space.

A slim console table designed for tight spaces can add function without crowding.

• Choose narrow depth: Look for “narrow” or “slim” in the description to help keep walkways open.
• Add smart storage: Drawers hide keys and mail; a lower shelf can hold baskets for shoes or scarves.
• Keep it light: Open bases and lighter finishes can feel less bulky visually.
• Mind the width: Compact lengths (around the 30"s–40"s) often fit short walls better.
• Style with purpose: A small tray, bowl, or catchall helps corral daily items.

Measuring first and comparing listed dimensions to your wall can simplify the search.

Caring for your table can help it look good longer, but methods vary by finish. Check the product details for specific guidance.

• Dust regularly: Use a soft, dry cloth to remove surface dust.
• Spot clean gently: For most wood-look finishes, a slightly damp cloth followed by a dry wipe can work; avoid harsh abrasives.
• Rattan/cane accents: Lightly dust or use a soft brush attachment on a vacuum to remove debris.
• Metal frames: Wipe with a damp cloth and dry to reduce water marks.
• Protect the surface: Use coasters, felt pads, and wipe spills promptly.

These general tips can help, though care needs may differ by material and finish.
