An entry table is most commonly called a console table. You’ll also see it referred to as:

• Hallway/entryway table: A narrow table designed for tight spaces.
• Foyer table: Often used near the front door for a welcoming setup.
• Sofa table: Placed behind a couch, but it can double in the entry.

These tables typically feature a slim profile and may include drawers, open shelves, or even fluted-front cabinets and hidden storage. Choose the name that matches how you plan to use it, then compare sizes and features that fit your space.

An entry table isn’t always the best fit. You might skip it when:

• Space is very tight and a table would block door swings or foot traffic.
• Safety and mobility are priorities and you need a clear, wide pathway.
• You need seating first—a low-profile shoe bench may be more practical.
• There’s limited wall length and a table would feel cramped or cluttered.

Alternatives can include a wall-mounted shelf, hooks, or a compact storage bench. If you still want surface space, look for extra-narrow console tables (some are about 12 inches deep) and confirm the dimensions on the product page before ordering.

An entry table creates a handy landing spot and helps organize your foyer.

• Daily drop zone: Keep keys, mail, and bags in one place.
• Storage: Many options include drawers, open shelves, cabinets, or hidden compartments for a tidy look.
• Display: Style it with a lamp, a mirror above, or decor to warm up the space.
• Power and charging: Some modern console tables include built-in outlets to plug in lamps or charge devices.

Look for features that match your routine—drawers for clutter, a lower shelf for baskets, or a narrow profile for tight hallways.

Entry tables come in a range of looks to match your home.

• Farmhouse: Warm wood tones, rustic finishes, and sometimes barn-door cabinets.
• Modern: Clean lines, fluted fronts, and minimalist hardware.
• Mid-century: Streamlined silhouettes with retro-inspired details.
• Industrial: Wood tops paired with sturdy metal frames.
• Boho/rattan: Textured rattan drawer fronts and natural shades.
• Minimalist: Simple profiles with open shelving.

Finish options commonly include walnut, black, rustic brown, and natural oak. Pick a style that complements your door hardware, flooring, or nearby furniture for a cohesive entryway.

A quick measuring plan can help you pick the right entry table.

1. Measure wall length and note obstructions like vents, outlets, or stairs.
2. Check depth needs: Narrow designs around 12 inches deep can work well in tight halls.
3. Compare lengths: You’ll find options from roughly 39 to 71 inches long. Choose what fits without crowding.
4. Map it out: Use painter’s tape on the floor and wall to visualize footprint and height.
5. Confirm details: Review dimensions, storage features (drawers/shelves), and assembly notes on the product page.

This approach can help you balance surface space, storage, and a comfortable walkway.
