CD-R and DVD-R disks are both used for storing data, but they differ in capacity and usage.

• CD-R: Typically holds up to 700MB, great for music, photos, or smaller files.
• DVD-R: Offers around 4.7GB, making it ideal for videos, large backups, or bigger projects.

Both types are 'write-once,' so you can't erase or rewrite data after recording. Choose based on how much data you need to store and the compatibility of your devices.

To keep your blank disks in good shape, follow these tips:

• Store them in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.
• Keep disks in their spindle or jewel cases to prevent scratches.
• Avoid touching the recording surface—hold disks by the edges.
• Keep them away from dust, moisture, and extreme temperatures.

Proper storage helps maintain disk quality and ensures reliable recording when you’re ready to use them.

Yes, blank disks like CD-R, DVD-R, and Blu-ray are commonly used for backing up files.

• CD-Rs are suitable for smaller backups (documents, photos).
• DVD-Rs and Blu-ray disks can handle larger files or entire folders.

Just make sure your computer has a compatible drive. For frequent backups or large amounts of data, consider using rewritable disks or additional storage options for convenience.

Recording data is straightforward with most computers.

1. Insert the blank disk into your CD, DVD, or Blu-ray drive.
2. Open your preferred burning software (many computers have built-in options).
3. Select the files you want to save and follow the prompts to start burning.

Once finished, check that the files are accessible. Remember, write-once disks can’t be erased or reused, so double-check your selections before burning.

Labeling helps keep your disks organized.

• Use a soft-tip, non-solvent marker designed for optical media.
• Write only on the designated label side, not the data side.
• Avoid stickers, as they can cause imbalance or damage.

Clear labeling makes it easier to find your files later and prevents confusion, especially if you’re storing multiple disks.
