CD-R and DVD-R discs are both recordable, but they differ in storage capacity and usage.

• CD-R discs typically hold up to 700MB of data or about 80 minutes of audio, making them great for music or smaller files.
• DVD-R discs can store up to 4.7GB, which is ideal for videos, larger files, or backing up data.

When choosing between them, consider what you plan to store and make sure your device supports the disc type you select.

To help your blank discs last longer and avoid damage, try these tips:

• Keep discs in their original spindle or a protective case to prevent scratches.
• Store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
• Avoid stacking discs without protection, as this can cause warping or surface damage.

Proper storage can help maintain disc quality for future use.

Yes, recordable discs like CD-R and DVD-R can be used to back up photos.

• CD-Rs are suitable for smaller photo collections, while DVD-Rs offer more space for larger libraries.
• Make sure your computer or disc burner supports the disc type you choose.
• After burning, label your discs clearly and store them safely to help keep your memories organized and protected.

Always double-check that your files have copied correctly before deleting originals.

To play music CDs, you’ll need a device with a compatible disc drive, such as a CD player, some DVD players, or a computer with a CD drive.

• Insert the CD into the drive and follow the device’s prompts to start playback.
• For computers, you may need media software to play the tracks.
• Not all modern devices include disc drives, so check your device’s specifications before purchasing.

Portable CD players and some car stereos also support music CDs for on-the-go listening.

If your disc gets dirty or smudged, you can clean it gently:

• Use a soft, lint-free cloth and wipe from the center outward in straight lines.
• Avoid circular motions, as these can cause scratches that affect playback.
• If needed, lightly dampen the cloth with water (no harsh chemicals) and dry the disc thoroughly before use.

Handle discs by the edges to help prevent fingerprints and keep them working smoothly.
