Think about what you’re serving and the vibe you want. Different colored toothpicks and cocktail picks can change the look and function.

• Material: Bamboo/wood picks are sturdy for sliders and charcuterie; plastic picks offer bright colors and fun shapes (swords, hearts, animals, umbrellas).
• Length: Shorter (about 2.5 in) for olives and small bites; mid-length (around 3–3.25 in) for cocktails and fruit; longer (about 4.7–5 in) for mini skewers.
• Theme: Flags, seasonal icons, roses, or umbrellas can match holidays or celebrations.
• Quantity: Packs range from ~100 to bulk cases; buy a little extra for refills.

On Walmart.com, use filters for style and count, check photos, and look for food-safe labeling in descriptions.

Match pick length to the job so your bites and garnishes stay tidy.

• About 2.5 inches: Frill or club-style picks work well for olives, cheese cubes, and bite-size appetizers.
• About 3–3.25 inches: Plastic cocktail sticks and fruit forks are great for citrus peels, cherries, and small dessert bites.
• About 4.7 inches: Fancy bamboo picks hold sliders, pinwheels, and charcuterie stacks without wobbling.
• 5 inches and up: Shaped or themed sticks help with layered snacks or taller drink garnishes.

If you’re mixing uses, choose a variety pack or combine short and long picks so you’re covered for both drinks and trays.

Check the product details and packaging language before adding to your cart.

• Look for cues: Terms like “food picks,” “food safe,” or “toothpicks for appetizers/drinks” in titles or descriptions indicate intended food contact.
• Materials: Smooth bamboo/wood or sturdy plastic designed for food use is typical. Avoid cracked or splintered pieces.
• Use and care: These are for serving, not cooking; keep picks away from heat. Paper umbrellas and decorative toppers are for presentation.
• Quick check: If concerned about color transfer, test one with a spare slice or garnish first.

Product pages on Walmart.com include specs and customer photos that can help you choose confidently.

It depends on your menu and how often guests will grab garnished drinks or small bites.

• Plan by servings: Estimate picks based on the number of appetizers and cocktails you expect to serve, plus extras for seconds and accidental drops.
• Buy in bulk: Packs range from ~100 to large cases, which can reduce mid-party restocking.
• Mix sizes: Having both short and long picks covers everything from olives to sliders.
• Keep a reserve: Unopened packs store well for future events; place refill cups near trays for easy topping-up.

Filters on Walmart.com make it simple to sort by count so you can match your guest list.

Some plastic picks and kids’ food picks are reusable, depending on design and care instructions in the product details.

• Check the listing: Look for mentions of “reusable” and review material notes. Items with paper flags or umbrellas are typically single-use.
• Clean gently: Hand wash with warm, soapy water and rinse well. Avoid high heat unless the product specifically allows it.
• Dry and inspect: Let them air-dry completely; discard any with cracks or rough edges.
• Store smart: Keep styles separated in a dry container so they’re party-ready next time.

For bamboo or wooden picks, single-use is generally recommended.
