Setting the date and time on a digital clock can vary by model, but most follow a similar process:

1. Press and hold the 'Set' or 'Mode' button until the display flashes.
2. Use the 'Up' or 'Down' buttons to adjust the hour, then press 'Set' to confirm.
3. Repeat for minutes, year, month, and day as prompted.
4. Once all settings are correct, press 'Set' or 'Mode' again to exit.

For atomic or radio-controlled clocks, the time may update automatically after setup. Always check your clock's manual for specific instructions.

Clocks designed for seniors often include features that make them easier to use:

• Large, clear displays for easy reading of time, date, and day.
• Simple controls with minimal buttons to reduce confusion.
• Voice announcements that state the time and date aloud.
• High-contrast screens and adjustable brightness for better visibility.
• Calendar functions that show the full day and date, which can be helpful for memory support.

These features can make daily routines smoother and more reassuring for seniors.

Many digital clock-calendar models are designed for use in bedrooms, even in low-light conditions. Look for features like:

• Adjustable backlighting or dimmable displays to reduce brightness at night.
• Night mode settings that automatically lower the light level.
• Large digits that are easy to read without turning on a lamp.

These options can help you check the time comfortably without disturbing your sleep environment.

To keep your clock-calendar working during power outages, choose a model with battery backup. Here’s how it helps:

• Battery backup maintains the time and alarm settings if the main power goes out.
• Simply insert the recommended batteries (usually AA or AAA) into the compartment on the back or bottom of the clock.
• Check batteries periodically and replace them as needed to ensure continuous operation.

This feature can help you avoid resetting your clock after every outage.

To clean a digital clock display safely:

1. Unplug the clock or remove batteries before cleaning.
2. Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth to gently wipe the screen and body.
3. If needed, slightly dampen the cloth with water—avoid using harsh chemicals or spraying liquid directly on the display.
4. Let the clock dry completely before plugging it back in or reinstalling batteries.

Regular gentle cleaning can help keep your clock looking clear and working well.
