When picking an electric kettle, think about:

• Capacity: Look for a size that fits your daily needs, like 1.7L for families or smaller for solo use.
• Features: Options like auto shut-off, boil-dry protection, detachable bases, and LED indicators can make life easier.
• Material: Choices include stainless steel, glass, or plastic. Glass offers visibility, while stainless steel is durable.
• Extra Functions: Some kettles have removable infusers or gooseneck designs for pour-over drinks.

Check product descriptions or reviews for details specific to each model.

Most electric kettles are designed for water, not milk. Heating milk can cause residue build-up and may affect the kettle’s performance or lifespan, especially if there’s no dedicated milk warming function. Always check the manufacturer’s instructions for your specific model before using anything other than water. If milk is heated, clean thoroughly after to avoid odors or damage.

1. Place on a flat, stable surface: Avoid tipping or spilling.
2. Fill between minimum and maximum lines: Prevent overflows or dry heating.
3. Never immerse the base: Only clean the kettle, not the electric base.
4. Keep away from children: Hot water can be dangerous.
5. Let cool before cleaning: Prevent burns or damage.

Using features like auto shut-off and boil-dry protection can add safety too—always follow care tips in your user manual.

To keep your glass kettle sparkling:

• Unplug and cool: Make sure it’s not plugged in and is completely cool.
• Remove loose debris: Pour out leftover water and wipe inside.
• Descale: Fill halfway with water and add vinegar or citric acid, let sit, then boil and rinse.
• Scrub gently: Use a soft sponge to avoid scratching the glass.
• Rinse thoroughly: Make sure all cleaning agents are gone before next use.

Regular cleaning can help maintain performance and keep water tasting fresh.

Some electric kettles come with removable filters that help reduce limescale and improve water quality. Availability of replacement filters can vary depending on the kettle model and brand. It’s a good idea to check product details, the manufacturer’s website, or Walmart’s support page for compatible filter options. Using a filter when recommended can help keep your kettle running smoothly.
