Apple tracking devices, like AirTags, use Bluetooth to connect with your phone. The typical range is about 30 feet (10 meters), but if your item is out of Bluetooth range, the device can still be located using Apple’s Find My network.

• Nearby: Precision Finding works best within Bluetooth range.
• Farther away: If your item is lost farther away, other Apple devices can help update its location anonymously.

Actual tracking distance depends on your environment and how many Apple devices are nearby. Results may vary based on usage and conditions.

Most Apple tracking devices, including AirTags, don’t require a monthly subscription fee.

• Setup and use: You can use the device with Apple’s Find My app at no extra cost.
• Additional features: Some third-party trackers may offer optional services, but standard tracking is included.

You’ll only need to replace the battery or recharge, depending on the model. Always check product details for any exceptions.

If you’re concerned about a hidden Apple tracking device, Apple’s Find My app can alert you if an unknown tracker is moving with you.

• iPhone users: You’ll get a notification if an AirTag or compatible tracker is detected nearby for an extended period.
• Manual check: Listen for beeping sounds or use the app to scan for unknown devices.

If you find a tracker, follow safety guidelines and consult Apple’s support for next steps. Always prioritize your privacy and security.

While Apple tracking devices offer convenience, there are a few limitations to consider:

• Compatibility: Most work only with iOS devices.
• Battery: Some models require battery replacement or recharging.
• Privacy: There are concerns about unwanted tracking, but Apple includes safeguards.
• Range: Bluetooth range is limited, and accuracy depends on nearby Apple devices.

We recommend reviewing product specs and user reviews to ensure the device fits your needs.

Setting up an Apple tracking device is simple and usually involves one-tap pairing with your iPhone or iPad.

2. Bring the tracker close to your device.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to name and register your item.

Setup steps may vary slightly by model, so check the included instructions for details. If you run into issues, Apple’s support resources can help troubleshoot.
