No, 420 chain and 35 chain are different types. The numbers refer to their size and design standards. A 35 chain is typically a roller chain with a 3/8-inch pitch, often used in light machinery, go-karts, and mini bikes. A 420 chain has a larger pitch and is commonly found in heavier applications like motorcycles or ATVs. Always check your equipment’s manual or specifications to ensure you’re choosing the right chain size for your needs.

A 35 chain has a pitch of 3/8 inch (0.375 inch), which is the distance between the centers of two adjacent pins. This size is standard for #35 roller chains and is popular for small machinery, go-karts, and mini bikes. The width and roller diameter may vary slightly between brands, so it’s a good idea to double-check the specs of your equipment before purchasing replacement chains or links.

The number 35 on a chain refers to its size and type, following the ANSI (American National Standards Institute) roller chain numbering system. The '3' stands for a 3/8-inch pitch, and the '5' is a series identifier. This helps users and manufacturers quickly identify compatible chains and parts. Understanding these numbers can help you match chains, connecting links, and offset links for repairs or upgrades.

The main difference between a 35 chain and a 219 chain is their pitch and width. A 35 chain has a 3/8-inch pitch and is generally wider, making it suitable for go-karts, mini bikes, and light industrial uses. A 219 chain has a smaller pitch (often around 1/4 inch) and is narrower, commonly used in racing go-karts where reduced weight and size are important. Always match your chain type to your equipment’s requirements for safe and reliable operation.

Yes, a 35 chain can be used for certain outdoor projects, such as hanging items, securing equipment, or light-duty towing, as long as it matches the load requirements. Some 35 chains are made from galvanized or stainless steel, which helps resist rust and corrosion outdoors. However, always check the chain’s rated capacity and choose the right material for your project to help ensure safety and durability.
