I would recommend this product to family and friends

I have a large pet with sebaceous adentitis and she was/is losing hair and skin at an alarming rate! My poor girl smelled so awful I worried about that smell transferring to the whole house. Since we purchased the Roomba e5 my floors are very clean, and free from fine dog hair and dust. My home smells better, hardwood floors look so clean and polished, and my confidence is back when we have visitors. The e5 is not quite as loud as a traditional vacuum cleaner, you do have to empty it out and wipe down dust after every use. It cleans so effectively I don't mind the maintenance, plus it's good for longevity of the machine. After two months, it runs an average of 1.20 hrs before returning to its dock. I ran it almost daily at first, now it's 2 x's weekly. Occasionally it gets stuck in a corner eventually working its way out, or misses a crumb or two, nothing I can't handle by stooping over to pick up. It transitions from hardwood/tiled floors to area rugs without a hitch if the rug has a non-slip coating, but it does get stuck on a rug without backing. All in all I have been pleased with the performance of this little helper bot and have recommended it to my friends with pets.

Love this unit. I also have a 700 series Roomba as well and this is a very nice upgrade. Using the iRobot app makes it extremely easy to have the vacuum begin a run, I can even run it when I am not even home. The only thing I noticed is that the dirt bin is slightly smaller than the series 700, so it needs to be emptied more often, but not a deal breaker.

Wonderful to have! Not as smart as I thought...

It's addicting to watch, I can waste hours just watching it - I try to figure out why it sometimes goes over the same section over and over and yet seems to drive right past places it's missed. It doesn't seem as smart as I was thinking, maybe because I have a lower model. It doesn't seem to find its base (I keep the base in a back room) it will get lost and run out of power. Then I actually have to get off the couch and take it back! HAHA! However, it eventually cleans everything so very well, I'm very happy with it and can't wait for the company to continue making improvements to the new models! Thx!!
