Goes great with the lion's knights castle

I bought this set because I already owned the lion's knights castle. A castle needs it's town to make it come to life afterall. A very enjoyable build, loaded with detail, even more than the castle itself. Great value as well. Bottom line is: if you like the theme and or you have the castle, then you really should get this.

The lion knights are living well!

This set is - without doubt the best building experience I have ever done. The goat is in an excellent design, with no faults. The piece count per price is amazing! The tax collector is great, the best fig I have ever seen! And the wolf pack is a nice touch. The first section is a detailed many style hinged building, with lots of amazing interiors and references - such as the tapestry. And the second building is, again amazing, the shield makers side with the watch tower is a great reminder of guarded inn! And the inn itself is - the best interior I have ever seen! Cannot wait to combine with the lion knights castle and other sets!

Refining the castle scene

This was another model that when I saw the leaks, I hoped Lego would make it as Castle has been my favourite theme since I was a kid and the Lion Knight's Castle needed something to accompany it. Like the Lion Knight's Castle, Lego did not disappoint. It has fantastic new body prints for the minifigures, thoughtful introduction of medieval trades, and I love the homage paid to set 6067 from the 1980s. Being able to open the buildings to expand or change their appearance is genius. I have a few quibbles, stickers, I wish the Tavern area was larger, the tree looks like it belongs in Africa rather than Europe. But this is me being picky as Lego have provided an amazing addition to those who want to have a medieval scene on display. I now have a great setting to put my castle themed CMF minifigures into as well. Hopefully Lego continue to expand this theme.
