The colors are bright. This is made out of wood and the cutouts in the barn are wide enough for the pieces to fit through easily. This was a Christmas gift for a 2 year old, she likes carrying it around and putting in all the animals. It is sturdy enough for her to sit on even though it isn't for that purpose.

Bought for my niece for her first birthday and it's her favorite toy even months later! The best part is it grows with them. First they just enjoy taking the figures out and putting them back in, and eventually they'll be learning to match the shapes and animals.
