This is perfect for my 20 lb kitty! I'll be using it for walks, trips to the vet, etc. I recently had back surgery so I'm not allowed to lift over 10 lbs. It has solid wheels for travel and sturdy straps to carry as well. The expansion assists with the ability to stretch out and turn around too. In addition, the carrier would be great for a smaller dog.

I like this cat carrier a lot it is ideal for cats and dogs or other animals. My cats are not declawed, they are indoor cats but I live in Ohio so I'm trying to get them accustomed and not scared to be outside. This pet carrier was actually big enough for two I believe almost full grown cats a year old and they're overweight. I believe the mesh on it is pretty sturdy and it would take a lot for them to claw through it they did not try so I cannot tell you 100%. the zippers are nice there's even a little latch you can watch them together so animals cannot open it up accidentally. The carrier also is removable from the base. the fabric seems as good as it gets and very thick and durable. the velcro is extremely strong as well that attaches the carrier to the bottom of the base it velcros around a metal tube that's connected to the base I don't know how to describe it. the handle can lock to be small my four-year-old daughter was able to pull it or you can push a button and it can pull out to about 4 ft 3 ft to 4 ft. the metal that it's made with seems pretty good. all in all I'm very pleased with this pet carrier. it has handles so when you take it off the base it's easy to carry around. it has padded insert that goes in the bottom of the carrier. there is also something you can latch onto the collar of your animal so if they do try to escape they're stuck to the carrier like a very small leash. three sides unzip one side fully and zips then the middle of the top and then the front unzipped so there's different sides for you to put the animal in or out of. another good thing about this carrier is it does not tilt like others I've seen online it stays on all four wheels. we actually took the cats on a walk and we went down an alley that is all gravel and my daughter who was pulling at 4 years old had no issue navigating this even through the grass. also it does not come assembly the instructions were extremely easy and it did not take long! you just really have to velcro it on the base and put the wheels on.
