Purchased for use in a 92' Ranger's A4LD transmission. Mercon is the correct fluid for my vehicle and transmission according to the service manual. There are many sources that state Mercon V superseded Mercon for my application; however, after having used both I can definitely share that Mercon is the superior fluid for my truck's transmission. Shifts are smoother and more solid. Walmart sold this fluid at a price significantly lower than any auto part supplier online or brick and mortar. It was prepared for pickup after placing a same day online order as promised. Good job Walmart!
