We picked this up after a couple windy weeks left a pile of downed branches along our fence line, and my husband was tired of fighting with a dull old hand saw. I wanted something that would actually get the job done without him having to mess with gas, mixing fuel, or trying to start something finicky while the kids and the dog are underfoot. This chainsaw has been really straightforward to use. The corded power is steady, so it doesn't bog down halfway through a cut, and it handled the thicker limbs we had stacked up (the kind you'd normally drag to the curb and hope they magically disappear). The tool-free chain tensioning is honestly one of the best parts—when the chain started feeling a little loose, it was an easy fix without digging around for extra tools. The automatic oiling has also been nice because it keeps things moving smoothly without me worrying that we're running it “dry.” It also has the basic safety stuff you'd want, and I like that it feels like you have to be intentional when you start it up. The only real downside is the obvious one: the cord. You have to be mindful of where it is at all times, and depending on your yard, you'll probably be using an extension cord and planning your cuts so you're not constantly repositioning. It's not a dealbreaker for us, but it's something I'd want to know before buying. Overall, for normal suburban yard cleanup and cutting up branches for pickup/firewood size pieces, it's been a solid buy and has saved us a lot of time. For the cost, I do think it was worth the value—especially if you want dependable power without the extra fuss of a gas saw.
