Viewsonic Projector Lamp RLC100

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought a pjd7828hdl Viewsonic projector in 2016 for home use. The original bulb lasted until Jan 2023 (7,384 hours). I bought this replacement lamp assembly (RLC-100), and it has worked well so far (41 hours). The replacement is much brighter than the original was at the end of it's life. I suspect the brightness degrades slowly over time, so this replacement is likely the same brightness that the original one was when it was new. This was my first time replacing a projector lamp assembly, and it seemed like a good idea to spend a little more money on Viewsonic's replacement than a cheaper 3rd party alternative. I was tempted to buy the bulb alone from a third party seller, but did not because (1) it was hard to tell which sellers have quality products, and (2) there was a little nick in the lens of my original assembly, likely caused by the bulb burning out, so it may not have worked well if I tried to reuse it.
