This truly is for all ages. Even preschool age can count the number of dots on the dice. Our 10 year old introduced us to this now our family of 4 play it all the time. We built our own board for it. There are several ways to play it according to the insert that comes with the dice. We bought the 4 pack but if you purchase more you can play with as many people as you'd like. I do think these dice as specially made for this game I'm not sure it would be as fun with regular or other dice. The product description needs to be more clear about the color of dice you're getting. Ours came with pink die with yellow dots, yellow die with blue dots blue die with yellow dots and green die with pink dots. All bright colors maybe even neon. I highly recommend this if your family likes to board game together or play dice. You can play alone with a timer or with just 2 people or an odd number. Very versatile and fun
