Good quality, but no locking mechanism

Good quality, but I expected it had the same locking mechanism as the 12" posts. It will work, but I use the seat that I place on this pedestal in other locations. So when I go to pull the seat from this pedestal, the post come with it. Minor nuisance, but the 12" posts have a nice locking system that this one lacks. I got this 15" to keep on my fishing deck so the tops on my livewell and stowage bins can open clear of the seat. With the 12" post, the tops won't open all the way.
