This is one of the best science fictions I've ever seen. I first saw it when I was teen and loved it ever since it's way ahead of its time with action beauty special effects music great sound effects and robots it's, way cool. Just the most wonderful movie ever. also actor Bruce Durn is amazing in this movie it a must watch.

If you're looking for blockbuster special effects, you might want to look elsewhere. This is quiet, thoughtful, and character-driven, with a solid story and a loud and clear message. it's been said that the essence of drama is conflict, and Bruce Dern very effectively conveys that inner turmoil. You may or may not agree with his resolution, but you'll never forget it. Joan Baez' lovely vocal says it all.

One of the beast low budget 70's si-fi movies along with Soylent Green and others. It proves generations have been fighting for the earth for more than 50 years.(though we haven't been winning)
