Useful Insights

Contrary to Roger Ebert, I found the film to be very well made and a germaine commentary on 2001/09/11 fanatical religious terrorism. As a former Mormon, I was pleased to encounter many of the rumors that I had heard about Young's Mormons, except from the other side of the table. Anyone wishing to see a more sympathetic movie about the Danites should get hold of a copy a 1996 film entitled Avenging Angel, starring Tom Berringer. It gives an accurate portrait of a conscientious Danite working his way through a moral crisis caused by his service to Young.
