I wanted to upgrade from plastic to glass and this was the best priced set I could find. They work great and the lids fit just right. I haven't traveled with them so I don't how leak proof they are. The picture is what you get, not the description. Online the set was priced at $25 but in store it was $30 so I did the store pickup and they were ready the same day. I just wish they'd have a set with just the bigger sizes.

Pyrex doesn't absorb flavors or colors as plastic.

I prefer food storage in glass to plastic. Pyrex is microwave-, oven- and dishwasher-safe. I always feel clean-up is germ-free, as I can use very hot water, without damage to the bowls. The plastic lids can't take extreme heat, so don't put them into a dish washer. They may not seal enough to keep air out. When I don't get a tight fit, I seal with Press'n Seal, then put the lid on for stackability. They make fridge space more usable because you can stack them. I use my plastic containers for freezer storage, only. Pyrex has been dependable for decades...all of mine!

Pogue's Life Hacks recommended multi-use glassware to ease Kitchen stressors. He was right!! This Pyrex set can go from fridge to microwave or receive piping hot cooked items from the stove!! We can eat straight from the containers! No more transferring from tupperware to glass plate to serve and back to store! Ha-HA!! And these are the sizes we most commonly use and store. We're so pleased!
