We bought these for the pool this summer and the kids loved it. One word of advice is do not take out the foam liner inside of them because those serve a purpose, and I didn't know this until after my daughter took out one of them only to see that they don't Stand up in the position they should. It's much more difficult trying to grab them when they're laying flat.

there's a slit through the middle....at first they float for a little bit till they basically fill up with water then they sink down and stand straight up so like a fish could swim through -and that's how you want them to sit under the water at the bottom of the pool. they don't lay flat on the bottom of the pool.
