Cool Packaging, Great Price

What can you say about this album that hasn't already been said? Amazing album all the way through. The cool thing about these reissues is their price and the cardboard sleeves making them look like mini albums. If you like Metallica, have a couple extra bucks to spend on an album you probably already own. This is a pretty cool reissue for your Metallica collection.

The Heart of the Metal Era

The album that is considered the height of Metallica's career in the heavy metal counter-culture of the late 80s, a time when glam, new wave and pop dominated the charts being the image of 80s music, another that tried to make itself the identity of the 80s was synth but it always got fused in conversation with new wave apart from the arcades. Ride the Lightning came in the days when the Big Four Thrash made a remarkable splash on the charts, radio and TV relatively around the same time as the big 'devil scare' that happened and being people weren't very rational then they lumped in fans of punk rock, gothic rock and heavy metal into that category that also got into necromancy and the occult. Yeah, they left an impression especially on the ignorant masses of the time who they made plenty of statements about. Of course the album reflects on injustices that led to wrong convictions and the removal of innocent peoples. With that gloomy topic aside, this album is a memorable thrasher that is sure to annoy your fundamentalist neighbors :D

I had to add this CD to my collection. I believe the first three Metallica releases came from a period when they rocked their hardest
