Excellent Tax Program

Software is easy to use, walking you through each entry in a logical manner. This was my 5th or 6th year using the program. My only complaint had to do with the time to file, and to pay what's owed. I live in Florida, where the entire state was considered a disaster zone, and a layer filing deadline. The program should account for that without me having to check a box saying I live in such an area. It should know that from my home address. But other than that, it's a great solution for doing a nasty job.

Bad California

Federal was great, esp since I used H&R last year. However the state portion (California) was fatally confusing when it came to amortization and depletion of rental property. Basically it was undoable, so I skipped it and am sure I lost some refund. You have to fix this. Like give a detailed explanation so even a 7 year old can do it .

It's really very good! But some things are difficult to find, figure out, and my situation raised questions that could not be answered. Since I was filing late, I had to buy the software instead of use the online program. Support--which was always helpful!--was only available during working hours. Unfortunately, that didn't serve my needs.
