Fish n Fillet

Love the knife so much after 5 years, I purchased 3 for my friends for xmas. They always commented how sharp and easy it was to fillet fish with, so I bought them one. The knife keeps a great edge, so sharp I can shave my hairs on my arm with it and has nice flexibility for skinning the fillets. I'm sure you can find a better knife out there but I personally don't see the need to spend the extra money for what this knife can do for under $20.

I have been using one Rapala fillet knife for decades (don't remember the exact year I bought it, but it's 20-30 years ago), love it so much that I recently bought 6 more of them, for my sons, my friends, and one more for myself. The flexibility and shape of the blade is perfect. After hundreds or perhaps over a thousand fish, no damage is seen. With occasional sharpening, it's as good as new. The wooden handle looks and feels nice in hand, and the new one even has an improved appearance to the blade, and uses a high-build finish (looks like epoxy) to seal the handle better. Among the recent purchases are a few of their cheaper model which came with unfinished handles. I like those just as well, because I can easily sand and finish them by myself. The cheaper version has the same quality blade.
