Incredible tonal blending and accuracy

After tearfully retiring my beloved R1800, I recently fired up my new P600... and was blown away. R what?! It was instantly dead to me. The first print out of the P600 was rich and colourful. After a couple of quick experimental tweaks to the (extensive) settings, I was perfectly matching print to screen. And the first B&W? Breathtaking. Truly neutral, with deep blacks and flawless tonal gradations. Couldn't be happier.

SC-P600 - the R3000 replacement

I was set to purchase ether the Epson Stylus Photo R3000 or Epson Stylus Photo R2000 printer when I was introduced too the SC-P600 by the sales person. My goal is to produce colour and back and white prints suitable for sale. The R3000 is an older printer and the ink supplies are more expensive than the R2000 or SC-P600. The SC-P600 came highly recommended as the R3000 replacement, it has better ink management and large capacity ink tanks which actually come at lower cost. The SC-P600 was launched in 2014 and easily replaces the R3000, its goal, but reviews of it do not show up as often. Performance and set up was straight forward, simple and easy. The printer is robust and easy to use via the display screen or software on the computer. It works well with Adobe Lightroom. My prints show the SC-P600 to be a first class performer I can highly recommend.

Great picture quality

I have the Epson Stylus Photo 2200 which is on its last legs and it had to be replaced. The SureColor P600 is highly recommended so I decided to purchase one. If you are going to switch between the Photo Black and the Matte Black, be prepared to buy additional Photo Black cartridges because switching between the two uses a ton of Photo Black but not as much from Photo Black to Matte Black. But what does one do if you do not use Matte black, is it still used when printing on glossy paper or semi gloss paper? Will the Matte Black have to be replaced once the cartridge date expires or will the printer still function? Except for this one concern I am very pleased with the quality of the printer and the photos it prints.
