Digestive Complex is a broad-spectrum formula packed with active fungal or plant-based enzymes, herbs, and whole-food extracts designed to help support the digestion of fat, protein, carbohydrates, fiber, and lactose.*  This synergistic formula provides support for healthy digestion and relief from occasional discomforts such as gas, bloating, and indigestion.*

Unlike other digestive enzyme products, our formula features whole food extracts including licorice and ginger, as well as herbs such as fennel, peppermint, and marshmallow for added nutrients and calming properties.* 

Through salivary secretions, chewing, gastric acid, and pepsin, the process of digestion begins in the mouth with the majority of digestion taking place farther down the digestive tract in the small intestine.  Once food moves from the stomach and enters the small intestine, the digestive enzymes begin breaking down the large macronutrients into small peptides, amino acids, monosaccharides, and disaccharides, as well as free fatty acids that are able to pass through the intestinal wall and enter the bloodstream.  Digestive Complex incorporates amylase, lipase, proteases, bromelain, papain, lactase, and several other vital digestive enzymes to help provide an extensive formula that works in a wide pH range to help support and promote healthy digestion and optimal enzyme function.*
