Dabble, The Fast Thinking Word Game

DABBLE is a really fun new word game that my family just started playing this month. The directions are easy to follow and the game is quick to set up. The racks and tiles are nice quality. I played this game with my 9 and 11 year olds and the 9 year old keeps asking to play again. :) Since this game is about spelling 2 to 6 letter long words as quickly as possible, I felt the adults have an advantage, so after one round, we played with slightly adjusted rules allowing the kids to swap letters at any time while I was not allowed to swap until the timer ran out. That made the game more fair and fun for everyone. The point values are easy to see on the tiles to tally up the scores. My 9 year old also enjoys playing with the letters to make words and names even when we aren't playing the game. I'm happy with anything that encourages spelling and reading - plus this game is fun! Also, after someone got DABBLE by filling their board, we worked together to help the other players use all their tiles to make words so every kid could fill their boards and say DABBLE. I'm looking forward to playing DABBLE with my teenager and other adults. This is a great family game.
