Great for Boys too

I received this item in exchange for an honest review. My son picked this item and is excited about doing the project. He has a few projects picked out, but they require materials (old t-shirts) not included in the box so we haven't started it yet. The materials are included for most of the projects. Because the included needle is for embroidery thread, it's easier to sew using felt or canvas or knit and not regular woven fabric. So far, we have just practiced the different stiches using some scrap felt. For the most part the instructions were pretty clear, but he did better after I showed him a stitch or two. He did complain that the product was geared a bit more towards girls, but he expected that.

Great sewing kit!

I received this product in exchange for an honest review. This is such a fun sewing kit! My girls have different sewing abilities and they were both able to find things to sew that they enjoyed! They especially loved that the book taught them how to do different sewing styles. If you know a kiddo who wants to learn how to sew or knows how to and loves it, this kit would be the perfect gift for them! There are also a ton of different project supplies so they can make many different projects!

Sewing

Don't know how to sew that's okay. Craft-tastic helped my daughter & I to learn how to hand see. With the easy to read with pictures on step by step on what to do helped. It comes with a few supplies to get started on a few projects that are listed in the book. Patients is needed for this takes time to get it going. From cutting to sewing. But in the end it was a fund bonding & learning experience for us.
