I was originally going to purchase the Fit bit Charge, but came across the Alta - - I am VERY pleased! Especially like the fact that it vibrates and pops up with a message lile, "let's get moving" or "Its step o'clock!" IF you don't make 250 steps, every hour. Able to track water and food, if you desire. And I like that it also tracks how long and what type of exercise you do (run, walk, sport, workout). And I got 2 year warranty! Thank you!!

I am so happy that I splurged a little on myself and got be this generation of the Fitbit line. This thing does not have an easy life. It sometimes gets water on it, it has had dirt on it from gardening, been worn when riding extreme roller coasters, and I'm sure it has been pressured against my body while I was sleeping, but it has survived it all. The band is very secure than previous generations and easy to change if you want a different style or look. I love the features that it comes with, but my favorite is the creative ways it reminds me to get up and move. The messages are motivational more so than demanding, and they give me the feeling that "Yeah, I definitely can get up and take 250 steps". After completing the goal, it also gives positive feedback around something like "You rocked those steps". I love this and has really helped to get me moving more than I was on average. I would recommend this product in a heartbeat.
