It's hard to snap shut, but once on the lid is tightly on. I'd definitely recommend just the price as a while is high, in my opinion. It's a plastic molded item. It's not that hard to make.

It is a decent product for lots of leftovers or for a big salad. They tend to begin to start looking bad if you use them to cook in the microwave wave after a few months. I have quite a few sizes from this manufacturer. They lids hold pretty well too.
