i already had a 2TB slim drive and love it. I bought the 4TB for my sister for her birthday. She has been thrilled with hers as well. it is versatile. It can be used as storage or an additional hard drive. or it can be both. i use mine for my online storage but it also serves as backup space during windows updates. I also install all my new apps on it. It integrates well with all my functions. The only draw back is having to take it with me wherever i may need my laptop. It isn't very portable friendly. Tip: If you use it as part of windows, shut windows down before detaching it and plug back in after moving the laptop and before turning windows back on
