Key item features

  • Active Ingredient: Contains 40% Mesotrione, a selective, systemic herbicide for effective pre- and post-emergence control of various weeds.
  • Application Rate: Apply 4-8 fluid ounces per acre in at least 30 gallons of water; lower rates are recommended for perennial ryegrass, fine fescue, and St. Augustine grass.
  • Weed Control: Targets tough weeds like Crabgrass, Yellow Foxtail, Yellow Nutsedge, and Bentgrass by inhibiting a plant enzyme essential for photosynthesis.
  • Mechanism of Action: Disrupts photosynthesis by preventing carotenoid formation, leading to chlorophyll destruction, leaf bleaching, necrosis, and plant death within 2-3 weeks.
  • Turf Compatibility: Suitable for established or newly seeded Kentucky bluegrass, perennial ryegrass, tall fescue, fine fescue, centipede grass, and St. Augustine grass (sod only).
  • Application Enhancement: Requires use with a surfactant, and Herbi-Oil is recommended during hot summer months to prevent evaporation and ensure absorption.
  • Usage Restriction: Not intended for use on putting greens.

This works really well if you go by the directions on the bottle. I highly recommend if you're fighting crab grass.

Worked excellant on tuff weeds, suppresses Poa. Be aware it will bleach out lawn, but it does grow out after 3- 4 mows. I spot treated weedy areas.
