I prefer an oven mitt that the outer is full silicone and they are hard to find. They usually end up having some cloth on the upper part or if no cloth they are to thin and flimsy to protect against the heat. These are by far the BEST I have ever found. They are very thick, even the trivet that comes in the package is thick. The insert says heat resistant up to 480° so I don't yet how they'll do getting the heavy hot dutch oven out but I already know they are going to he better that the little silicone finger covers that I have now. They have done fantastic with my baking sheets and casserole dishes and already had to clean one off with a soapy rag after getting it dirty, thats the great thing about the silicone, just so soap and water wipe down and all cleaned up.

I purchased these thinking they are going to be like my regular oven mittens; they are nothing like regular oven mittens. I don't feel any heat on my hands or forearms when I get things out of the oven, grill or smoker. These are fantastic mittens and the place mats are very rubbery and durable with heat distribution throughout the mats making sure no heat will ruin your countertops.
