Meltonian Boot and Shoe Cream Polish, Grey 016

I thrifted a pair of real leather boots that had several scuffs and general wear and tear. I really wanted nice classic cowboy boots and I apparently have really expensive taste because I fell in love with a $300 style of stunning cranberry leather boots. My budget was only $50, however. So when I found boots on Poshmark that had wear and tear but were genuine leather and had a bit of a red undertone I ordered them and this wax/polish. I went for Scarlet because I wanted to bring out the red warmth as much as possible in boots that were actually probably burgundy originally. And I wanted to have the beautiful patina that shows they're genuine leather and have been worn, but also clean up the scuffs and have them look really nice and well cared for. This leather polish is the first I've ever used but boy it came through for me. I don't usually take the effort of adding pictures to reviews but the before and after is important here. I'm extremely happy that the boots I bought for $50 now look like the cranberry leather ones I was eyeing, and on top of how they look right now I know I have the supplies and practice to keep taking good care of them and maintain the color and quality. The application was easy, I used an old boar bristle paintbrush to really get into the stitching and nooks and crannies. Then I let them dry as directed and then buffed them with a rag rubbing side to side like you see in movies. The instructions were pretty bare bones but it turned out fine so I guess they're sufficient. The texture of the polish is like room temperature butter, then it dries looking kind of waxy, and then it shines up beautifully with a little friction. In areas where the leather was looking quite worn and like it might start cracking soon, it now looks “healthy” for lack of a better word. Conditioned, I guess. Anyway extremely happy and if I run out I will certainly purchase more. I'm not sure how often you're supposed to reapply so I'll have to look that up. Highly recommend!!
