Phone and 3 cards do not fit inside the cover

The cover is too tight around my phone. When I place my phone in the case, the case does not fully close, still allowing access to my screen area. Also, when I put 3 cards into the inside slots, the cover is open further than when I don't have anything in the slots. Case materials and workmanship are very nice, but the case just does not fit and protect my phone. Thanks
