Mother of seven. Have tried multiple daybeds (iron as well as cheaper metal) and bunkbeds (wooden, both cheap and medium range in price) and recently a poorly engineered cheap metal triple bunk. Get this one. There are enough slats and they are close enough together to be safe. Set up is easy (my 8 and 11 year old helped). Bought a 5 inch memory foam mattress on Amazon to be used on the top. Very happy with purchase.
