BETTER THAN THE COMPETITOR BY FAR

I had what I considered a "good" vacuum for pet hair and embedded soil. Oops, the belt broke. I went to the B------ website to find a replacement because I couldn't find it at Walmart, the original merchant. Then I saw the brush was MELTED! I had never seen a vacuum do that before. The replacement part was almost half the original purchase price. I did another search and found this Dirt Devil model. I said to myself, "hey, Dirt Devil was the standard at one time. Good to see you, Dirt Devil!" Once I understood the fancy engineering, and that its design was for easier use, I put it to work. It was wonderful...much better than the one that broke. Maybe the belt will break, but at least I can find one without much hassle. It's great on pet hair.

Great at cleaning up cat hair on carpets

Vacuum has lots of power and picks up cat hair with ease on most surfaces. Dirt cup is simple to empty and snaps back into place without difficulty. Filters are simple to remove and clean. The only complaint I have so far is that the upholstery attachment for the hose is under powered. It bogs down as soon as the roller touches fabric with all but the lightest touch and will not pick up cat hair.
