Great over all complete set for most, if not all, of any one person's and/or couples too, extended stays travel or family mini-vacation - full coverage capacity luggage set. Strong zippers and built-in locks are a breeze to operate. Multiple carrying handles in two places are convenient. Really liked that they come with built-in corner guards. The small mini-size luggage (16" or 18" not sure this moment exact size) but, has removable wheels so it can easily be a carry-on that will be like a personal item, to fit nicely in the underneath compartment, of the airplane's seat in front of you, if you fly commercial. In addition to the regular 20-22" you carry on and store in the overhead. Wheels spin and run smoothly inside airports and terminals and of course at home. No noise heard. Did not hit cobble stone pavements on my trips so cannot comment to that scenario. Especially appreciated the fact they all fit one inside another nicely for storage when not in use. Highly recommend you save the original ship box and nylon cover plus reinforce it with packing tape and save the cover nylon bags too if storing in attic or garage. Less dust and critters getting in. Now as far as scratches go - yeah they can get hit and abused by the gorillas at baggage handling. We forgot to put the cover on our larger 28" for one city trip but luckily no too shabby and quickly slipped the covers back on.
