The lid on the Rubbermaid® BRILLIANCE™ Food Storage Container is nice. It gives me peace of mind that the container is sealed. This container had kept my food well without leaking. The 2 vents under the lids for microwaving is a great idea to avoid splashes in the microwave.

The containers feature a crystal-clear, BPA-free Tritan lid and body that is resistant to stains and odours. They are also guaranteed to be 100% leak-proof and boast a splatter resistant microwavable design. Rubbermaid Brilliance is also dishwasher and freezer safe. They are built to stack perfectly in your fridge in order to optimize fridge space. Lastly, they come with a lifetime warranty. I was lucky enough to get to try out the Rubbermaid Brilliance medium-sized container (3.2 cups), for free. I am actually quite impressed by the design of this container. The Tritan plastic the container is made of gives the container a good, sturdy design, which is good because it doesn't soften when it contains hot food. I very much think that it is going to be a durable container after many uses and would resist breaking if accidentally dropped. The feature that I find most impressive for this container is its leak-proof design. The rubber seal between the lid and the container is really snug, and I could tell that the lid created a good seal even before testing it because you can hear and feel the air being forced out of the container when you put the lid on. The latches clip down nice and tight; locking your food safely inside. Once seal, this container really DOESN'T leak. I literally tried filling it with water and proceeded to tip the container upside-down and shake it about to test it, and it didn't leak a single drop! Thus far I have used my container for lunches for work - so sandwiches, salads and leftovers that I reheat in the microwave. It definitely keeps my lunchables fresh, and does a fine job of reheating my food. The vents located under the latches of the container are quite convenient. Just one note - make sure to remember not to grab your container by the latches once reheating to avoid burning yourself, as that's where the steam comes out of the container. I definitely recommend this product to anyone as I believe it would be very well suited for most people and everyday life/use. Note that I make one possible exception to this. It might not be as well suited for those suffering from arthritis as the seal of the container has a lot of suction behind it and might be difficult to open. My mother has arthritis, and she would indeed have difficulty getting the lid off.
